Diva Inspiration Challenge #2
This week's pic for inspiration was taken from a floral John Galliano Flat Cap.
So many ideas immediately went jumping through my head like kernels of corn popping into popcorn. I am pretty happy with the end result!

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Old Olive
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Always Artichoke, Old Olive

I don't know if you can tell or not, but I stamped 5 more of the flowers and after cutting them out, popped them up on dimensionals. the "For You" is also popped up on a dimensional too.

There's a kind of hush .............
Some very lucky USA/Canadian demonstrators are enjoying the thrills and spills at Convention in Salt Lake City - it wasnt that long ago we had ours in April in Brisbane ... what an awesome experience it is to go and such a blessing to be able to go too!
I am sure all the Diva's will update us when they return - well after they all recover!! I doubt there is much sleeping happening at the Diva Convention House!
Today is the calm before the release of the Australian/New Zealand Spring Mini Catalogue and I tell you it will warm you up from the cold snap we are currently having!
One of the gorgeous new sets in our Mini will be the very noice True Friend stamp set - I just love this set and used it in a 6x6 Mini Catalogue Swap for our team. Here is the layout I made and do you see the resemblance in those two gals?? well they do happen to be sisters and one of them is ME!! You have to guess which one!! lol
I have made my own patterened paper using the True Friend set and some pastel popping! I've also used a flower from the pretties kit which I dyed to Bashful Blue to match the layout.
Keeping in the 'blue' theme I thought I'd also share this card I recently made for a challenge on an Aussie Demonstrator group.
This one is made using One of a Kind stamp set and the flower centres are from In the Spotlight which is a lovely Hostess Set. I've used Soft Sky, Pretting in Pink and Close to Cocoa.
If you are in Australia and would like your own copy of the Spring Mini Catalogue then please leave a comment including your email address and I will get in touch with you to send you one.
I hope you all have a great day and look forward to seeing some sharing from all thats being revealed at Convention!

Starry Saturday
3D STAR TUTORIAL
Supplies:
Star Punch
Vellum Cardstock
Fiskars Cutter
Punch the star out and lay it in the cutter as pictured
Next, put the cutting track down and use your bone folder to score from the middle of the star to the top of the point
This is what the star looks like after all points have been scored:
Pinch the points along the fold line to make the star even more 3D:
Voila! A 3D star!
I use a Pop Up Glue Dot in the center of the star to attach it to the card. This also makes it stay 3D even if it goes through the mail.
Wonderful job!! Thanks again for sharing with us.
Have a great rest of your weekend. Everyone going to convention....I'll miss ya!! I know you'll all have an AMAZING time. Now....get back to those swaps. :)

Diva Inspiration Challenge #1
I am excited to post our very first Diva Inspiration Challenge!! Every Thursday a new Inspiration Challenge will be shown. I have a team of Bev, Tandra, Charmaine, and myself who will share our inspired creations with you every week! This week's inspiration came from an article written by michsineath for Mobile Technology. I love the bright colors of the balloons against the pretty blue sky! When I saw this, the colors of the Bold Brights family came to mind immediately.
For my creation, I ran with the balloons against the clear blue sky theme. I passed the background through the CuttleBug using the D'vine Swirl embossing folder that I dabbed with Whisper White Craft Ink before cranking it through the machine. I like how it created the subtle little clouds in the background.
Stamps: Bitty Birthday, Celebrate Everything
Paper: Whisper White, Yoyo Yellow, Real Red, Only Orange, Ballet Blue
Ink: Ballet Blue, Basic Black, Whisper White Craft
Accessories: White Gel Pen, Silver Cord, Dimensionals, Stampin' Write Markers - Real Red, Only Orange, Yoyo Yellow, Glorious Green, Ballet Blue, CuttleBug
Bev took off with the balloons as she used the colors and balloons as a border for a scrapbook page. She added highlights on the balloons with a white gel pen.
Stamps: None
Paper: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Glorious Green
Ink: None
Accessories: Signo White Gel Pen, 1-1/2" circle Punch
Tandra made a beautiful explosion of flowers with her creation! She even busted out the BRIGHT new In-Colors!
Pacific Point base card.
Flowers stamped on Glossy paper with Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point inks.
Various punches- 5 Petal Flower punch,
Boho Blossoms punch.
Layered flowers, some on Dimensionals, some flat.
Charmaine came up with this happy hanging treat holder. Not only will it hold drink mix for your water bottle, but a yummy snack as well!
Paper: Bashful Blue, Real Red, Only Orange, Yoyo Yello, Brilliant Blue
Ink: Brilliank Blue
Accessories: White Gel Pen, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1/4" Square punch
Extras - Butterfinger Candy Sticks, Hawaiian Punch Flavor Pouches
We are super excited to start a weekly challenge and would love to see you join in and have fun with us too. Post a link in the comments section with your blog entry or SCS gallery showing us what creation you were inspired to come up with!! If you upload to SCS be sure to put DivaIC1 (no spaces) as the keyword.

Blissful Book
Well its morning on the Northern side of the globe - those down under should all be snoring just about now being that its 1am Thursday here and a chilly (and dark) 48°F !
I have been spending some time lately making up some cute little projects which my customers just love as much as I do and I do believe this is a good thing - well they keep booking classes so it must be!
Here is one I got from Splitcoast Stampers and its called a "Pull Out Scrapbook" and they are very easy to put together.
All the items I have used are available in Australia and the One of a Kind stamp set and Boho Blossoms Punch will be available August 1st from the new Mini Spring Catalogue!
Recipe:
Stamps: One of a Kind
Inks: Close to Cocoa, Whisper White Craft Ink, Purely Pomegranate
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate, Berry Bliss Designer Series Papers
Accessories: 1/4" Pretty in Pink Grosgrain, 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, Double Stitched Purely Pomegranate, Tag Punch, 1" circle punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Sticky Strip, Photo Corner Punch.
These are great little books you could give as gifts as a brag book for the grandparents, book of quotes or encouragement notes for friends or just to record a special time or holiday.
The above images show the book open completely with 4 pages on each side and one side being a mirror of the other.
Now are you wondering how I made that star with the Designer Series Papers? well look closer ... its not really a star but using the Photo Corner Punch on all four corners and making them meet at the middle gives that star shape! Cool huh? that was thanks to another Stampin Up demo Patty Bennett (thanks Patty)
As you can see these make awesome little gifts and you could use them for anything at all.
You can find the tutorial for this great little scrapbook here
Have a totally blessed day!!

Technique Tuesday - Working Metal Magic
Creating the look of metal using the faux metal technique is no different; it adds intrigue and shine to your projects. There are several ways you can achieve this look.
One way you can achieve the faux metal look -
1. Press stamp into VersaMark and stamp onto card stock. (Suggestion: use the same color paper as the embossing powder - i.e., Gold embossing powder with Brushed Gold card stock.)
2. Sprinkle embossing powder over image.
3. Melt powder using heat tool.
4. Punch or cut out the embossed stamp and place it on your project.
Another way to make beautiful faux metal stamped items for your projects is to ...
1. Apply VersaMark over entire piece of card stock using the direct-to-paper technique. Sprinkle embossing powder over image.
2. Melt powder using heat tool. Press the card stock into the VersaMark again then sprinkle on additional powder while the image is still hot, and reheat. Repeat up to three times.
3. Press image into warm layers of embossing powder to create image. Punch or cut out image, and adhere to card.
I want to challenge you this week to try this technique out and post your results. We would love to see what you did.
I want to thank Elise Pelletier, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, who created the beautiful Amour card at the Montreal Regionals in April, 2008. My thanks also goes out to Jackieb410 on Splitcoaststampers.com for this wonderful Wanted card. I just love the detail of the emblem.
Hope this will get you started in putting some shine in your projects. Have a great week. Until next week ...

Sunny Saturday
Fireworks / Day at the Beach card!!
Stamp sets: Independence Day, Life's a breeze
Sandy shells wheel
Cardstock: Naturals Ivory (main card finished size 4-1/4x5- 1/2), Very vanilla, Basic Black, Not quite Navy, Bashful Blue, More Mustard
Fall Flowers designer series paper
Ink: Not quite Navy, Always Artichoke, Ruby Red
Accessories: Fine Cosmo glitter, dazzling diamonds, versa mark, White emboss powder, Clear emboss powder, Stampin' pastels, Craft/rubber Scissors, 2 way glue pen, 1 1/4" punch, Snail adhesive, Stampin' dimensionals, Stampin' Around handle, Bone Folder
Fun in the sun is on my mind!!! Then reality sets in for me here in Pennsylvania, it's more like wet & sticky weather, then anything fun!! YUCK, I truly want to thank the person that invented central air, muah, muah, muah, you're officially on my love ya list!!!
So here's a small twist on a warm summer night at the beach kind of card!! I decided to make something representing the 4th of July/Independence day (Belated now I know), the beach and good 'ol fireworks !!!
Here are directions for the card :
I started out with an 8 1/2 x 11 Naturals Ivory cardstock sheet. Cut it in half at and measuring it to the <----5-1/2----> point. Folded it at the center with my bone folder to give me that nice crisp edge (this is a wonderful tool)!! I then measured up my black cardstock (I save all of my "scrap" pieces, because you just never know when they will come in handy). I trimmed it up to fit the cards width and then snailed it down starting at the top of the page. Then I trimmed up the Not quite navy, bashful blue & more mustard cardstock (about 2-1/2 "x 4-1/4"). I then ripped each piece to give blues the (ocean/wave look) and the more mustard the nice rough edge coast appeal. I ran snail along the top of the bashful blue and then layered it on to the not quite navy cardstock, I ran snail across the bottom of the bashful blue & 3/4 of the way up on the not quite navy. I took the bubbles from the Life's a breeze set and stamped them along the bottom edge of the bashful blue with the not quite navy stampin' spot (I love these lil' buggers too, they are affordable & give you a great sample of the color families)! Next I ran my Sandy shells over the versa mark pad, then wheeled it over my more mustard sheet. Sprinkled the clear emboss powder over that, shook off the excess & used the heat tool to give it that nice gloss affect, and then snailed it down to my main card. I then got a scrap (thank goodness for my scrap drawer) sheet of very vanilla, stamped my boat, sun glasses & flip flops and then used the 2 way glue pen to the spots that I wanted to add the fine cosmo glitter, after doing so I used the craft/rubber scissors (another wonderful investment) to cut them out!! I then took another scrap piece of the designer series paper and cut it (1"x2"), then put it on a scrap piece of very vanilla, which I trimmed down so that it was the same width as the designer series paper, but a little longer because this was going to be my "beach towel" with fringe (fringe was done with the scissors again)!! I then snailed the towel down along with the sunglasses, I used a stampin' dimensional for the flip-flops. Next was my boat, I snuzzled it right behind my not quite navy cardstock, to give it that "floating" in the ocean look. Next was my fireworks. I used my scrap piece of black cardstock and with the swirls & stars stamp, I inked it up with versa mark and stamped like a crazy stamper should all over a 3"x3" black cardstock, then embossed with white emboss powder & heated. After heating, I took the stampin' pastels and used all sorts of colors with the given applicators all over it, to give it the fireworks appeal, then I hairsprayed it for good measure & less mess, after drying I ripped in a circular motion, till I was happy with it. Then I did the same thing with the Independence day stamp, using the versa mark ink, then white emboss powder & heat gun, but this time I used the 1-1/4" circle punch, punched it out and used a stampin' dimensional to adhere to the "fireworks", which I also glued down with a stampin' dimensional. I colored the area of the star with stampin' pastels also, no hairspray this time. Then after all was glued where it needed to be, I used the stampin' dimensionals to give a little bit of a light effect underneath & at the edge of my "fireworks", then softened it with very light rubbing of the eraser...and there you have it, watchin' fireworks, on the Independence Day, at the beach !!!!
Have a wonderful weekend. :)

TGIF(Thats another Friday closer to Convention!!!)
Thank you so much to Barb Mullikin, of Sheridan, Wyoming, for sharing this project from her own blog. She has a complete tutorial that you can check out at www.barbstamps.com AND she has a tutorial on the awesome new scallop edge punch. I personally have a love-hate relationship with that thing. Anyone else? Well, Barb to the rescue! Check it out, you wont be sorry.
Tune in next Friday for another "how many Fridays are left before convention?" installment!
Happy Stampin' (well, you should be working on those swaps, right?) Jennifer

Four Seasons in one post!
You guys are sweating in your summer weather and we are freezing our butts off in Australia!
Its just so all things work together for good - we need the cold winter for the plants to have a rest and start working on those Spring buds and new growth - Spring is exciting for us in Australia as we are getting a gorgeous new mini catalogue and all those in USA and Canada are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their new Fall/Winter Idea Book & Catalogue and we are all brought together at the same time by this marvellous technology!
Speaking of Seasons not only does it remind me of a favourite passage of mine in the Bible but it also brings you some lovely eye candy from Christine Rebbert. Christine lives in Elkridge, Maryland, and has made this set of gorgeous cards - one for each season.
"Year After Year". This set didn't stay around long, did it? I remember it was in the Preview Brochure for the Fall/Winter Collection '07. Card stock is Pumpkin Pie (of course!) and Very Vanilla. I think I used the slit punch to make the bottom scallop-y thing. I used Aqua Painter to watercolor the pumpkins, and a piece of the wide twill, fraying the edges a bit.
"Year After Year". This was one of my convention swaps last year; in addition to highlighting a stamp from that set, it also used several of the then-new In Colors -- River Rock, Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, and Purely Pomegranate, so it was also sort of a "sampler" for those new colors.
"Touch of Nature". My friend/customer Trish is an excellent photographer, and whenever she has a workshop, she'll give me some photos and say, "Here, create the make-and-takes using these." Then she'll print out enough of the photos so everyone at the workshop can make the same card.
So that's her beautiful photo of a butterfly in her garden, and I used Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke card stocks, and Versamark and Always Artichoke inks for the background. Always a little photo-turn thing and brad from the Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware kit.
Arent these cards just great?? Thank you so much Christine for sharing them with us ... and the world!!
Have a great day all .... I'm off to bed!

Bud Basics Z-Fold Card
You can see in the picture below where this card fold got it's name. It is a 4-1/4 inch x 11 inch piece of card stock folded to form a "Z". Just score at 2-3/4 inches and 5-1/2 inches then fold back and forth. Add any size mat to the front of the card to anchor your focal image(s), as Ashley did here. Don't be afraid to play with the measurements of the score lines to achieve a customized Z-fold look to fit the stamp set you are using or card theme you are wanting to accomplish. Turn the card vertically or horizontally. We would love to see your results, so please post a link to your blog and share your creations with us via a comment to this post.
Recipe:

Simply Sent Saturday
Brenda used More Mustard, Perfect Plum, Rose Red and Old Olive inks for the cards. The kit contains textured cardstock, designer paper, accents and elements, ribbons and brads. In addition to these items, Brenda also used pop dots, hobby blade, paper snips and paper piercer to create her cards. After creating the cards, she still had some cardstock and designer paper left to play with. So bold and bright!

I wish I would have thought of this!
I am still struggling with where to put them in my HOUSE!
I love this idea. Thank you to Selene Kempton, for sharing this GREAT TUTORIAL and fantastic idea.
Items you will need: Linen Album, Heat tool, Decor Elements, Paintbrush, Craft Ink, sponge dauber, chunky glitter
Use a paintbrush to remove any excess powder BEFORE HEATING.
Use the heat tool to heat the powder JUST UNTIL IT CHANGES COLOR -do not over heat or it becomes less sticky.
