Happy Memorial Day

Hello Friends,

I created todays card and had a lot of fun.
I stamped one of the images from the July Fourth Stamp Set with versamark ink all over the Pacific Point card base. The fabulous thing about Versamark is that you can stamp it on any color card stock and it will show 'that' color. I wheeled the Red, White & Blue Jumbo Wheel over a strip of Whisper White Card Stock. I layered it on Real Red Card Stock and then adhered it to the card. I punched out 3 Large Stars using the above mentioned Red, White and Blue Card Stock and layered them with Red and White stars. I adhered them to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. I attached a strip of Whisper White Organza Ribbon and then added a small piece of Real Red Satin Ribbon to it.

A very quick and easy card. This card could be made in multiples very easy with the help of the Jumbo Wheel and the Star Punches.

Here is the middle of the card

Hope you have a wonderful day !

Finally Friday with Sweet Memories!!!

Hello all!!!  Friday is finally here, once again, and I am so very thankful for that!!  I'm looking forward to a long weekend.

With the beginning of May, many special days come at us and many special occasions. All of those days give us SWEET MEMORIES! This project was a gift for my mother. Her birthday and Mother's day are just a few days apart and I so I usually combine her gifts with one large one.
Here is my sample for this week. Not too happy with how the pic came out, but I tried to fix it with the "fix-it" program!! As I said earlier, this is for my mother as a combo Mother's Day and birthday gift.

I decided to create a shadow box, with the emphasis on the picture. This is a picture of me when I was 15 months old and the last picture of me before my accident. I took the original picture, which is very tattered and torn, and had it copied at Meijer's. This picture started out as 8x10, but I cut it down to 5x7.

The shadow box came from my LSS and is 8x10. I covered the back panel with a piece of dsp from the Sweet Pea stack, spritzed it with the Soft Suede and Old Olive marker and then used the direct-to-paper technique with the Soft Suede. My intent was to go vintage. The actual picture is matted with a piece of Soft Suede textured and then I used the distressor tool around the edges.

I used a leftover piece of "ruffled twill" I had from another project on the bottom. The flower is made using the Flower Folds die in Cameo Coral and was distressed with Soft Suede ink. If you look closely you can see the flower on my dress and I was attempting to bring that out. Some of the buttons are non - SU!, but are "vintage" looking. The flower buttons are from the Button Latte and I used a flower brad on the other button. I used a Vanilla HPH designer label bracket for the nameplate. A couple of nature "twigs" and it was done!

Happy Stamping!!!

Happy Birthday to one of our very talented Divas

Happy Monday Friends,

One of our very creative and talented Divas, Gretchen Barron is celebrating her birthday this week.  We are very fortunate to have Gretchen be a part of our UDI Design Team.  She shares with us many wonderful creations.

The card above was designed by Gretchen and here is her recipe.

The stamp set is Awash With Flowers and the sentiment comes from Watercolor Trio. The colors are Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Whisper White. The ribbon is 1/2" Polka Dot Grosgrain in Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry. I used a square Rhinestone Brad for this cute little bow center and the Scallop Trim Border Punch. And I used the Big Shot and the Square Lattice Impressions Folder for the texture on the background.

Gretchen is planning something really fun and worthwhile for her birthday and you can read about it by clicking here.

Here is the blog candy that Gretchen will be giving to the lucky winner.

Have a wonderful day!

Red White and Blue

Hello Friends,

I am really excited to share fabulous projects from one very talented and creative Diva, Melanie Schulenberg.
Although I am British and will always be grateful for my heritage, I love living in the United States of America.  I LOVE seeing patriotic projects!
Here's something that can be used as a table decoration, or better yet, to brighten up those gray office cubicles. All text that you see is from the "Red, White & Blue" jumbo wheel. SO much versatility if you just ink up the text you want and wheel it out. It's like 15 extra stamp sets for free!

The basket uses the new Lattice embossing folder. Having this container textured REALLY made a difference.

Are you curious about the basket? It's the egg template basket from Stampin' Up! (Pattern will be posted next week :)

This card uses the new jumbo wheel in the traditional way, simply wheeled and mounted.

The stars are from the Seeing Stars stamp set. What would fit more than this patriotic wheel?
I tied a little mini vintage tag, also from the Summer mini and embellished it with cardstock layers.

Thanks Melanie!  Love your creativity!

Have a wonderful day!

Diva Inspiration Challenge #95

How creative is your imagination this week? Even though this week's inspiration picture is a bunch of lines and squiggles, it reminds me of the days of finding images in the clouds. The first thing that came to my mind were fireworks, then flowers. Pretty soon the ball got rolling and I couldn't stop looking to see what else I could "see". It will be fun to see how everyone else came to interpret this week pic. :)

Summer Mini Catalog Projects

Happy Monday Friends,

My sincere apologies for the inconsistency in posting to our blog.  I hope to rectify this very soon.  Thanks for visiting us.

Today I am sharing creations from our current SUMMER MINI CATALOG.  Be sure to contact your Demonstrator if you have not received a copy or would like to place an order.  If you do not have a demonstrator, e-mail us at utahdivasinternational@gmail.com and the details of the closest demonstrator (UDI Member) will be sent to you.

Be sure to leave a comment.
This cute project was made by LIZ MILLER.  Liz used the fabulous 'Island Oasis' Designer Series Paper and the Island Floral Bigz Die.

Look at the awesome watercoloring/detail on this card.  KELLIE PAXTON used the "King of the Grill" stamp set for this one.

Our fabulously talented ROBIN MERRIMAN who is part of our Inspiration Challenge team created this elegant beauty using the "Blissful Bride" stamp set.

I love MONIKA DAVIS style.  She has created a set of tiles using the "Elements of Style" stamp set.

And finally, and not by any means the least, SHARON FIELD used the "Tropical Party" stamp set to create this stunning and very creative card.

Way to go Friends.  Awesome creations.  More ideas from the Summer Mini coming this way next Monday :)

Have a wonderful day!

You Rock!!

I just about died when I saw these magnets from Stephanie Gittins - are they adorable or what?!

You Rock magnets
For my birthday last month, I had a girls' night out with my sister and a few friends!  I was so excited to spend time with some of my favorite people that I decided I wanted to make them all a little something special.  I didn't have a lot of time, so this is what I came up with.  These magnets measure 4x4 and are made from chipboard coasters.  I just covered them with Designer Series Paper, using Tombow Mono Multi Adhesive, and added the embellishments.  They all turned out slightly different because of the flower shapes.

Stamps:  Friends Rock
Inks:  Basic Black Classic Pad.  Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers
Paper:  Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack.  Rose Red, Old Olive, and Whisper White cardstock
Accessories:  Pretties Kit, Ice Round Rhinestone Brads, Flower Fusion, Die Cut Blooms, 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch, 2 Step Bird Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

I think these would be perfect for hostess gifts or door prizes.  Yay - thanks for the great idea Steph!  I love seeing the things that you come up with.  We're glad you're on the UDI Design Team - you rock!!
