It's Thursday Baby!

Hi everyone! My name is Maria Williams and I am honored to be the Thursday blog coordinator!! I live in Texas and I am married to a wonderful guy. I am the mother of 4 cool kids ranging in ages from 6 months to 11 years old; I also work full time from home, so needless to say I constantly stay busy!

I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for 2 years now and I am still loving it!! I have been a member of UDI since October 2006 when Karen excitedly told me about this awesome group and invited me to join. Just recently I have become the SCIAB (Stamp Camp In A Box) coordinator. These are a real fun swaps to do and I have participated in many of them myself. I am so glad to be a part of such a fun, caring, zany, crafty group of talented gals. I cannot wait for the next UDI get-together in April when I will finally get to meet my friends face to face!

Now, speaking of friends, this leads me to today's project. I made this Surprise Pop Up Card using the stamp set Time Well Spent. (Stampin' Up is such a great company to work for and they do little things like sending all the demonstrators this set before the catalog even came out! Free stamps are always welcomed by me.......hehehee.) The butterfly panel was sponged around the edges with Pretty in Pink ink. I then outlined the butterfly with Crystal Effects and added Glitter. Adding CE and Glitter has to be one of my favorite add ons to do! When you pull up on the ribbon, the butterfly image pops up and reveals the message below(which reads "Time spent with FRIENDS is time well spent"). These cards are pretty easy to make and the recipients seem to enjoy them a lot!

Well what an absolute thrill it was when Max asked if I'd like to be a regular contributor to this blog and what a great idea to have this blog to share and encourage each other in our creativity and its my pleasure to hopefully inspire you all the way from Sydney Australia!

I will be here every Wednesday (well as long as Max allows me to - although I do believe I have to pay her in Cadbury's chocolate!) to share and get those creative juices flowing. Now for a little about me ... I am Leonie and am a mum to 2 girls & wife to Neil and we live about an hours drive south west of Sydney Australia. I have been with UDI for about 6 months I think and was introduced to it by the lovely Maggie (my Aussie SU Sister!). I have been with Stampin' Up!® now for 17 months and its done nothing but bless me since I've started!

I thought I'd start off with sharing a set of goodies that are easy to make and in time for Valentine's Day which is next week Thursday (girls send the link to this post to your hubbies/boyfriends to remind them!!)

Now Stampin' Up!® has only been in Australia for just under 2 years so we have a lot of catching up to do!

We are currently have a gorgeous Summer (yes its summer here) mini catalogue which I've used papers from the "Loves Me" Designer Series Paper pack - well there was nothing better for Valentine's day! The set consists of a Coaster Gift Box, 'Gluggie' (Sour Cream Container) and a Clip stand Calender which I adapted from several I saw on Split Coast Stampers. These items were all easy to make and would make a great workshop for your customers if you're a demo and if you're a customer see your local demo or email me for the instructions.

Now remember I called the 'sour cream container' a 'Gluggie'?? well I'll tell you why .... when I went to school (surely it wasnt that long ago ... mmm well maybe) we had these frozen ice blocks in containers that exact shape and they were called Glugs (cola flavour), Razz (Raspberry flavour) and Sunny Boys (orange flavour) and these were the things I bought the most from the canteen at school! Hmm ... should I say I started school very early??

Our sour cream here in Australia comes in a round tub or in a small milk carton shaped container. So there you go - thats your cultural lesson for the day!

Mini Mailbox

Hi there! My name is Michelle Hoffman and I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I joined Utah Divas International almost two years ago, thanks to an invitiation by one of the members, Jaynell. I have never once regretted my decision to join UDI. It is a great group for helping you to grow your business and develop lasting friendships. Each and every member is very creative and talented, and I look forward to participating in showcasing their projects here on this blog.

I will be posting a project each Tuesday. I was asked to post a project today that I created. The item you see on the left is a mini mailbox found at the Dollar Spot at Target. This is the first mailbox I have altered and I had a lot of fun doing it. It really is quite easy and these make fun gifts.

to our UTAH DIVAS INTERNATIONAL blog.

We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who share and care. We have many things in common. We are creative and love Stampin' Up! Most importantly, we are FRIENDS.

One of the best things about our group is our Stampin' Sisters program. This is very popular amongst our Divas. We are paired up with a fellow Diva for 3 months. We send products from our Sister's wish list and usually there is chocolate somewhere in this package. Hey what is Stampin' without chocolate? :) The most important part of this program is getting to know our Sister.

All of our Divas are (or used to be) Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. The group is focused on friendship, so if a Diva decides to not pursue their demonstratorship, they are welcome to stay with our group. Alicia Tomicich-Wiley is our Assistant Manager/Membership Coordinator. Alicia is also our Business/Product swap Coordinator.

We are a very caring group. When someone loses a family member or a friend or needs a prayer, we are there for them. We send out a card, we offer a prayer, we make a phone call or send an email. Michelle Hoffman is our Coordinator over this. Michelle also keeps busy by posting Tutorials and challenging us to see what we can do.

We have Coordinators who post daily challenges and ideas on our group. Motivational Mondays are posted by Micki Harper. There is always a quote to help motivate.

Training Tuesdays are posted by Selene Kempton. Selene is a great example of how successful you can be as a Demonstrator. Having earned Cruise and Founders Circle, there is always something this Diva can train us on.

Workshop Wednesdays are posted by Jaynell Giliberti. Jaynell helps us with workshop ideas and is a wealth of information.

Tips on Thursdays are posted by Debi Nicol. Debi shares awesome tips and makes you wonder what you will learn next week.

Welcome! My name is Max and I am the founder of Utah Divas International. We are an online group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and as our banner depicts, from all around the world (Where Stampin' Up! is) I wanted to create a blog for all our Divas to have their work shown and so our customers could see our creations.

I live in Riverton, UT and work for Stampin' Up! It is my most favorite job by far. I have 4 children, Natalie, Kayleigh, JD & Olivia. I am originally from England, so was ecstatic when Stampin' Up! went into Europe. I have been a Demonstrator since 2004 and have met so many wonderful people during this time.

I will be posting on Mondays. Todays project was made by myself. I entered it for Stampers Showcase on the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website. It was shown on January 18th.

In the fall, we had our first annual retreat for our Divas. We had a great time stampin' and getting to know one another. Alicia showed us how to make these cute petals using the Small Tag Punch and the Designer Series Paper. When Stampin' Up! had a promotion in November (buy 3 packs get 1 free) I took advantage of it. Hey, I take advantage of all promotions :) Not only is DSP great for scrapbooking but for making cards and cute flower petals such as these. You will need to punch 8 tags. Have the side you want to see the most face up. Take the bottom right hand corner and fold it over to the left, just below the tag top. Fold back. It is much easier to make the shape of a flower using a sticky label. Place one tag on the label, then add the rest by laying side by side.
